As this game features a progressive artificial intelligence system, your opponent gains skill as you rise through the ranks. Your opponents skills are appropriate for your belt colour making black belts your toughest opponents.

The Gentle Way has been designed with children and younger judo players in mind but it can be enjoyed by anyone. The correct Japanese terminology is used throughout the game making it slightly educational.
